Welcome to the WCRC website

Western Cape Rehabilitation Centre , for Persons with Physical Disabilities, is a specialised rehabilitation centre, which accepts appropriate referrals from all levels of health services (i.e. tertiary, secondary, district and primary level health services). Clients can also refer themselves to the WCRC Out-patient clinic for one-stop assessment and management purposes.

Services
The WCRC provides specialised, high-intensity rehabilitation and community-reintegration programmes for persons with physical disabilities. The focus is outcome-based and the promotion of functional independence. The facility has a maximum capacity of 240 beds, and a daily OPD clinic. Rehabilitation programmes focus on reducing activity limitations and participation restrictions for persons with (amongst others):

  • Stroke/ Head Injury
  • Spinal Cord afflictions
  • Amputations (post amputation rehabilitation)

The WCRC also offers a variety of other services such as:

  • Home and/or work site assessments

Events 2012

Jazz in the Park Concert at Maynardville Open Air Theater op Sunday 25 March 2012.

Amanda Tiffin (http://www.amandatiffin.com  and friends will host their 5th annual concert at Maynardville Open Air Theater in Wynberg, CT.

The concert starts at 14:30 and ends at 17:30.

Tickets available at Computicket outlets (Shoprite Checkers stores) or on line at computicket.com. Ticket prices: R85.00; scholars, students and pensioners: R65 and 10% discount for bookings of >9. Children under 7: free

WCRC invites every one to come and picnic beforehand. Theater doors open at 13:00. Picnic baskets welcome. Kiosk at theater will sell refreshments. Seating: Unreserved. Chairs are provided.

Weather: Umbrellas and gazebo's supplied by organizers
